What's one of your favorite trips on your cargo bike?

Definitely our last weekend trip to Rockaway. We rode to the Brooklyn Army Terminal to catch the ferry, put the bikes on the ferry, arrived in Rockaway, and then rode to Far Rockaway on the bike path adjacent to the sand dunes. We visited family in Far Rockaway and then headed back closer to the ferry for lunch and some beach time. The bike lane was very well made, and it was so nice to just cruise next to the ocean. The kids were happy and had fun. Not only did we get to ride to Far Rockaway, but the bike also made it easy to get to the ferry and enjoy that, too, which was super fun!

How has family cargo biking in Brooklyn changed your life?

Significantly. We drive the bike every day, with or without the kids. We use it as our main means of transportation: we bring the kids to school/camp/activities, we use it to go to work, whenever the place we need to get to is too far to walk to, and whenever the stuff we need to transport is too heavy to carry. Also, we use it to do fun day trips around Brooklyn.

What would make biking even better in Brooklyn?

Long-term bike storage for the winter! Very important!

Your favorite accessory on your bike?

We don't have many. The kids' seats are essential. We have been liking the pannier — we attach it on the back rather than on the side and it is helpful to transport things. It's another profile.
